Betrayed Partners of Sex Addicts
Jeanne Vattuone, LCSW

Too often, when it comes to the treatment of sex addiction, betrayed partners feel isolated, embarrassed, hurt, and deeply confused. They are often wonder who their relationship partner really is, what other secrets they have, and how they can possibly move past this immense pain.  In this training, Certified Sex Addition Therapist and Certified Clinical Partner Specialist Jeanne Vattuone will describe the unique experiences of sex addiction betrayed partners and the recommended assessment and treatment protocols for this population.  The unique experience of sexual trauma via the addictive relationship will also be discussed in detail.

After attending this presentation participants will be able to:

  • Explain the differences in the experience of partners of sex addicts vs partners of other substance or process addictions
  • Describe the sexual impacts that occur for some partners in sex addiction
  • Describe the normal and typical trauma presentation that occurs in partners
