The Kristina M. Carey LMFT Scholarship FundMarin CAMFT has renamed its Scholarship Program in honor of Kristina Carey, an active Marin CAMFT member who died in February 2017. This scholarship is granted to several pre-licensed clinicians in Marin County each year. The Marin CAMFT Scholarship committee is happy to announce that we will be offering three Kristina M. Carey Scholarships. We will award one scholarship to a Trainee MFT, one to an Associate MFT, and one to either an MFT Trainee or MFT Associate who identifies as belonging to an underrepresented group in the mental health field (example: BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse). The amount of each scholarship is $2,500. 2025 is the 28th year that Marin CAMFT has offered scholarships. They reflect the enthusiasm, generosity and commitment of the chapter's membership to encourage and support future members of our profession. Eligibility for the scholarships:
There are no restrictions on the use of these funds and we have endeavored to make the application process as simple as possible. A W-9 tax form must be completed by each scholarship recipient and a 1099 tax form will be issued.
Application submission is followed by an interview. Scholarship application forms become available on November 15th each year (see below for the applications). Acceptance of applications closes on January 31. The 2025 Scholarship Application will be available on November 15, 2024.
