This presentation is intended to provide an overview of the licensing process for pre-licensees as they work toward licensure in marriage and family therapy.

Presenting on behalf of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists will be Kristin W. Roscoe, Esq., an attorney on CAMFT’s legal team.


Registration is FREE, but Advance Registration is Required. 

Topics will include:

  • The Marriage and Family Therapy licensing process
  • Supervised experience requirements for applicants
  • Supervisor qualifications and supervision requirements
  • Licensing examinations
  • Common employment issues pre-licensees encounter with their supervisors
  • Recent changes to MFT licensing laws as set forth in AB 93 and AB 2138
  • The 90-day rule (both new and old definition)
  • The 6-year rule
  • Volunteer vs. W2 hours
  • AMFT rights and obligations
