Short Description
I work with teens and adults, offering evidenced-based therapy for anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety, panic, phobias, social and performance anxiety, and OCD.
Description of Practice
I also provide high-quality therapy for other clinical issues, including depression, trauma, loss, life transitions, health challenges, and spiritual concerns, and provide a safe place to explore values, meaning, and movement towards one's life purpose.

I offer practical, customized recovery strategies, within a strongly holistic framework. Whenever possible, I use methods research has shown to be effective, drawing heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which have been shown to provide a clinical edge in treating anxiety disorders. When clients are open to it, I also use mindfulness-based practices to support emotional balance.

I believe that human problems are largely relational (including the relationship with self) and also are healed in a particular type of relationship, one that is safe, affirming and supportive. I view my role as a compassionate and informed guide, co-creating with you a therapy specifically designed to meet your goals and tailored to your unique personality, family, and cultural context.

In the room, I don't hide behind a professional persona and I foster an alive, here-and-now working style. My clients have described me as, "genuine, safe, and humorous." I invite regular feedback about our work.

I believe that freedom comes from self-knowledge and self-understanding, awareness of our habitual patterns and tendencies, increased flexibility in our responses, and commitment to our goals and life purpose. In therapy, I will help you narrow the gap between the facts of your life and what you envision is possible for yourself, expanding your freedom of choice, flexibility, and self-acceptance. I provide a safe place to explore questions of identity, meaning, values, and commitment--with the aim of helping you to gain a larger sense of purpose and to create your own preferred life.
