Short Description
Everyone needs therapy at one time, or another in their life. Please call, or email to find out if I'm the right fit for you.
Description of Practice
We seek to be understood and yet, we don't always have the language, or skill set to understand ourselves much less another person. Add to that equation a great deal of stress, a history of trauma, and/or a DSM-V diagnosis and the odds stack up even further against our personal and professional success. Therapy can help one sift through the rubble that prevents us from moving forward and seeing our trajectory clearly. I provide a 30-minute phone intake before meeting so that all potential clients can determine if we are a good fit. Sessions occur on a weekly basis for 50-55 minutes. Couples' sessions can be up to 80 minutes. In the first few sessions, a basic assessment of needs (including family history, AOD issues, trauma, childhood, etc.) and desired outcomes will be discussed. Every week there will be a follow-up from the week before to establish a continuity of care, then more relevant and recent experiences. In the final minutes of the session, a brief recap will be provided followed by the provision of skills, tools, or information to keep in mind for the week ahead. This structure has resulted in significant clinical gains for my clients. Please call, or email if and only if you are truly ready and able to make changes for the better in your life.
