Description of Practice
Stress and worry can take a toll on your mind and body, but with the help of therapy, one can turn inward and explore the root causes of these feelings. As with all things that are challenging, the first step takes courage and vulnerability to accept assistance and the desire to seek change. Over time, motivation and persistence are key to continued growth and self-discovery. Insight and understanding can help one align their values with their goals to promote more independence, confidence, self-esteem, and ultimately a sense of purpose in one’s life.
My work is grounded in allowing my clients to be the experts in their lives. The foundation I work from is person-centered as I utilize a warm and empathetic approach by reflectively listening and amplifying the strengths of my clients. It is my role, as the therapist, to use solution-focused methods to empower my clients to feel supported in whatever season of life they are in. In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to teach effective coping skills that draw on Psychodynamic and Attachment-based approaches. These models allow clients to gain a personal perspective on their lives from an early age while addressing family systems and early programming that have been created and define who they are in life at the moment. Our collaborative work will support my clients in navigating life’s stressors and uncertainties so that they feel strong and in control of their happiness.
In our work together, I will meet you where you are in your journey to healing and personal growth. You will have the opportunity to explore and identify your strengths, find self-compassion, and let go of any shame, anger, or guilt that may be holding you back.
