MARIN CAMFT

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR CONTINUING EDUCATION

One of Marin CAMFT's most important goals is to provide our members with support, education, social connection, and professional development. As a 5-year CAMFT Approved Continuing Education Provider (#56895), Marin CAMFT is dedicated to providing excellence in its programming. Most of our continuing education opportunities are available to non-members as well.

Our standard chapter CE opportunities include:

  • Friday CE Lecture Series: Offered nine times a year on the second Friday of the month (except for July, August and December). These two-hour lectures, which are free to Marin CAMFT members, provide 2 hours of CE credits.

  • Saturday CE Workshop Series: Offered four to six times a year as 3- or 4-hour workshops, including Legal & Ethical topics. These workshops are available at a reduced cost to Marin CAMFT members.

When reviewing proposals, Marin CAMFT requires that the presenters we host for workshops and lectures integrate considerations of culture within their presentations.

CONTINUING EDUCATION POLICIES

Continuing Education Goal: Marin CAMFT is committed to offering continuing education courses to train LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs to treat any client in an ethically and clinically sound manner based upon current accepted standards of practice.

Refund Policy: Payment for CE events can be made online using a credit card. We do not accept checks or cash payment for CE events. Refunds can be given for CE events if the request for a refund is received at least 7 days before the event. Please email the CE Director with refund requests or questions. A $20 administrative fee will apply, as refunds are processed manually.

Accommodation for Special Needs: The special needs of persons with disabilities will be accommodated. The Program Committee will endeavor to ensure that continuing education program materials, content and venue selections will meet the special needs of the disabled and that reasonable accommodation will be made. A request for accommodation can be made to the CE Director, who will work with the Committee and event venue to meet the need. All instructors will read and adhere to Marin CAMFT’s stated policies.

Marin CAMFT encourages those who attend in-person events to respect the fact that some individuals may have allergies to fragrances and pet dander. We ask that you refrain from introducing these elements into our meeting room. Registered service animals are welcome, of course.

Grievance Procedure: Marin CAMFT will respond to complaints in a reasonable, ethical and timely manner, when submitted by program attendees in writing to the CE Director.

Anti-Discrimination Policy: Marin CAMFT shall not discriminate against any individual or group with respect to any service, program or activity based on gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, creed, national origin, citizenship status, sexual orientation, religion, age, ability, or other prohibited basis. Marin CAMFT does not require attendees to adhere to any particular religion or creed in order to participate in training. Marin CAMFT will not promote or advocate for a single modality of treatment that is discriminatory or likely to harm clients based on current accepted standards or practice.

Course completion certificates will be awarded at the conclusion of the training and upon participant’s submission of their completed evaluation.

Reciprocal pricing: For most events, Marin CAMFT provides a discount to members of nearby CAMFT chapters (RECAMFT, SFCAMFT, EBCAMFT) who register to attend Marin CAMFT Workshops. This reciprocal fee is often the same paid by members of Marin CAMFT, and is generally $10 less than the full workshop price.
