Short Description
Lois Friedlander, MFT, CGP, MT-BC is a Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist, Clinical Faculty UCSF School of Medicine, Certified Group Psychotherapist, & Board Certified Music Therapist.
Description of Practice
Therapy is not a "one size fits all" approach. I am an integrative psychotherapist with an extensive background in working with mood disorders, dual diagnoses, prosocial behavior management and stress reduction. My approach is to integrate elements of several schools of therapy to address the emotional, behavioral, psychological, cognitive and spiritual dimensions of my clients. This strength-based approach allows me to design a therapeutic strategy for each client based on their specific areas of concern.
I am an experienced clinician and Clinical Faculty member, UCSF School of Medicine. I have experience in inpatient, outpatient and partial hospitalization programs and am comfortable working with child, adolescent, and adult clients who manifest a broad range of emotional difficulty.
My background allows me to offer specialized approaches in expressive arts therapy, guided imagery, CBT, and stress management techniques. I offer expertise as a Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP) and facilitate ongoing dynamic, supportive groups that are structured to enhance personal growth.
