Short Description
Richard Engebrecht is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who enjoys working with young adults(17 and older), as well as individual and couples.
Description of Practice
I have twenty one years experience as a clinician and have been licensed for the past 17 years. I enjoy working with a broad range of clients, but focus on individual work with adults. I work collaboratively with clients to clarify what they want to get out of therapy and then work towards those goals with compassion, creativity, and a large tool box.
I use many different tools to facilitate change, including CBT and ACT for symptom relief, the techniques and processes of Hakomi (a body-centered depth psychotherapy, which integrates western psychology, advances in neurobiology, and the mindfulness practices of Buddhist Meditation), and finally an interest in Existential Psychology(freedom, meaning, etc)
