Description of Practice
After seventeen years of providing therapy and services through nonprofit and governmental agencies, she has brought her clinical expertise to a private practice in Sausalito. Prioritizing the therapeutic alliance, she uses client centered and cognitive behavioral therapy through a strengths-based lens. Pamela offers an empathic, non-judgemental space for clients to feel safe disclosing their struggles. Her strengths include acceptance, understanding and validation while helping clients reach solutions. Whether clients present in crisis, with depression, anxiety, life transitions, school or parenting challenges, Pamela’s skills and strengths address her client’s needs, create and action oriented plan and succeed in therapy. Pamela specializes in providing therapy to children and adolescents. Some may be struggling to return to school, finish homework, navigate relationships and difficulties managing stress. She has experience with those who may be experiencing childhood anxiety, symptoms of anxiety, social anxiety, ADHD, and symptoms of depression. She works collaboratively with the parent(s)/guardians to create healthy boundaries, structure and routine with clarity to reduce stress around returning to school, homework, symptoms of anxiety or depression, ADHD. While practicing as a school social worker, she worked with students, teachers and parents on various behavioral plans. She creating treatment plans that included social-emotional learning curriculum to help children regulate their emotions and improve peer relationships. Individual therapy and group therapy often collaboration with parents and teachers to achieve the best results. Pamela also has experience with individuals and couples who may be struggling with pregnancy loss and infertility. She has worked with many clients to help them build their family through surrogacy, adoption or foster care. As an adoption coordinator for Adoption Connection, she worked with many adoptive families and biological parents in their adoption journey including navigating their relationship, birth plan and post adoption services. There can often be challenges unique to adoptive and blended families. Pamela has the experience necessary to guide families through these challenges.
