Workshop: Show Your Clients How to take Charge of the Inner Critic: An Instructional and Experiential Workshop, Presented by Sheira Kahn, LMFT

When a client is stuck or struggling, the inner critic is close at hand, causing emotional pain, paralysis, depression or anxiety. In this workshop, you will learn disengagement skills you can pass on to your clients so they can take charge of the inner critic, instead of it taking charge of them.

The Workshop will include:

• An informative map of the psychology underlying a destructive inner critic
• Behavioral interventions for clients
• Experiential exercises for attendees

Sheira Kahn is an LMFT in private practice in Alameda and co-author of The Erasing ED Treatment Manual. She studied Superego Defense during her tenure as a student in the Diamond Heart Training (Ridhwan School) from 1989 – 2001, adapting the techniques for her clients with eating disorders. She is a CEU provider and teaches on eating disorders, inner critic defense, and natural eating skills to clinicians (at UC Berkeley extension) and addicts around the Bay Area.
