FRIDAY LUNCHTIME PROGRAM

Friday, May 8, 2015

Constellation of the Intention in Working With Early Attachment Trauma
Peter DeVries and Richard Platt, LMFT

In this presentation, Peter DeVries and Richard Platt will familiarize us with the concept of the trans-generational transmission of unresolved systemic trauma, early attachment as a trauma, and the practical (constellation) work of the “constellation of the intention,” which is a unique form of the constellation process developed by Professor Franz Ruppert in Germany. Constellation work is a vehicle for working through difficult issues or trauma by using the lens of the family system. In the process of healing, in looking at the timeless movement of the soul, the survivor of trauma can experience freedom, full self-expression, and aliveness, perhaps for the first time in his or her life. A live demonstration will help you to learn and understand the basics of the constellation of the intention and become familiar with this tool as a way of working with and healing your clients who have experienced trauma.

Peter DeVries is one of the most prominent teachers and trainers of the Systemic Family Constellations approach, and he has gained national and international recognition. He was born and raised in the Netherlands and pursued his education and degrees in Europe. Peter DeVries has studied psychology in its many disciplines and he has trained with the founders and experts in the field of constellation work, including Bert Hellinger, Hunter Beaumont, and Victoria Schnabel. He is also trained in Somatic Experiencing and is dedicated to a naturalistic way of working with trauma and resolution. He currently leads workshops and provides trainings throughout the US, Europe, and the Caribbean. Peter DeVries maintains a private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he see couples, families, and corporate clients in both the roles of counselor and mediator. His main areas of interest include trauma resolution, children and families, couples and marriage resolution, and work and money resolution. He is the founder of ConstellationWorks, which was established in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2001.

Richard Platt, graduated from the California Institute of Integral Studies with an M.A. in Counseling Psychology in 1995. He is a licensed MFT and has a practice in Mill Valley. For over two decades, he has counseled hundreds of families through the toughest challenges of raising teen boys.
