Description: During this time of Shelter-in-Place, our clients' underlying traumas may get stirred up and expressed in obvious and subtle ways. Relational trauma, sometimes referred to as little "t" trauma, is a hidden trauma wound that creates chaos, fear, and pain for many people. Recognizing, addressing, and effectively treating relational trauma can dramatically improve peoples' lives. Without this hidden wound unconsciously pulling clients into dysfunctional patterns, our therapeutic interventions become more impactful. This presentation will clarify what constitutes relational trauma, explore the influence of relational trauma in our clients' lives and on their relationships, and discuss how to effectively treat relational trauma.
