Workshop Description

Join our workshop, “I can’t be both: Middle Eastern Queer Folks and Identity Integration,” to explore the complex experiences of Middle Eastern queer individuals, focusing on cultural, religious, and social challenges, as well as legal and mental health concerns. Gain insights into intersectionality and intersecting identity conflict to understand how various identity aspects contribute to unique experiences of discrimination and privilege.

Engage in an interactive format with discussions, polls, and case studies that offer real-life insights. Participate in exercises aimed at boosting self-compassion and community building through mindfulness, empowering self-talk, and emotional resilience. You'll also receive practical tips for connecting clients with supportive resources, ensuring actionable strategies for your practice. Enhance your understanding and advocacy for Middle Eastern queer populations and contribute to a more inclusive therapeutic community.
